The Dow Jones Industrial Index DJIA, the S&P 500 IndexSPX, and the Nasdaq Composite Index COMP all finished higher Friday after Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke reiterated his claim that the central bank has the means to “ease financial conditions and strengthen the recovery.” 

Not really into breaking down the S&P chart this week as news again will be the final factor. One thing to remember this is the last week of the month and then we get back to work. I know from my own statistics on the site that Sept and Oct bring a wave of hungry investors back into the markets. So lets get ready to rock this week. Best Bets this week $COF, $OXY, and $CHKP

Last week's trades

There is little  economic data due, the week before the three-day Labor Day holiday weekend and the Fed retreat—may prove to be as quiet and lack volume as much of August has been.
Data that may come into play in the coming week include the June Case-Shiller home price index on Monday, the GDP revision for the second quarter on Wednesday, July personal income and spending on Thursday, and the Chicago PMI on Friday.
